Depois de toda a controvérsia à volta de Kevin Hart não ir apresentar os Óscares, a cerimónia poderá mesmo não ter apresentador mas como uma música dos Queen diz: The Show Must Go On!
Como tal, fica a conhecer todas as nomeações para esta que é a 91ª edição dos prémios mais antecipados do mundo do cinema, marcados para dia 24 de fevereiro (madrugada de 25 em Portugal).
Roma e The Favourite arrecadaram cada um 10 nomeações, sendo o primeiro filme nomeado tanto para Best Picture assim como para Best Foreign Language Film, o que não era surpresa.
Sente-se a falta de John David Washington na categoria de Best Leading Actor com o seu papel em BlacKkKlansman, a presença de Roma em Best Film Editing e ainda First Man em Best Original Score.
De notar que também Bradley Cooper não foi nomeado para Best Directing.
Boas surpresas foram Spike Lee a ser reconhecido com BlacKkKlansman, Yalitza Aparicio e Marina de Tavira a serem nomeadas com Roma para Best Leading Actress e Best Supporting Actress, respetivamente. Também a nomeação de Pawel Pawlikowski com Cold War para Best Directing e a nomeação de Sam Elliot em A Star is Born foram boas surpresas.
